‘An exploration of young carers’ experiences of school and their perceptions regarding their future career- a scoping review protocol’
Author(s): Breda Moloney, Thilo Kroll, and Attracta Lafferty
Publisher: HRB Open Research
Year Published: 2020
Resource type: Peer Reviewed Research Article
Summary:
This article summarizes past research on young carers and their educational
experiences. The authors present both positive and negative impacts on education. Since education is becoming increasingly important and caregiving might place some young carers at a risk of getting lower education, more support is needed for young carers to ensure that their needs are met. They propose to collect all evidence available on young carers’ educational and career experiences. This article therefore is only a summary of the protocol for a scoping review
about young carers and their career perceptions. The authors summarize what they will do, how they will search for the articles, their exclusion and inclusion criteria for articles, and how they will present their results of their collection of published and unpublished articles.
