6.4: Evaluation Across the Powerhouse® Cycle

Evaluation within Powerhouse® is not limited to measuring what happens at the end of a program. Learning and feedback happen throughout the full Powerhouse® implementation cycle, beginning with training and preparation and continuing through delivery, reflection, support and future programming.

This helps both YCA and participating organizations understand not only what young caregivers experience and gain, but also how effectively organizations and facilitators are prepared and supported to deliver Powerhouse®.

Throughout your Powerhouse® journey, there will be different opportunities to share information, provide feedback, reflect on your experience and connect with YCA.

Each point in the cycle has a different purpose. Some help us understand whether your organization and facilitators are prepared to deliver Powerhouse®. Others help us understand program delivery and the experiences and outcomes of young caregivers. Reflection and follow-up help identify what is working well, where additional support may be helpful, and what can strengthen future delivery.

The goal is not to evaluate everything at every stage. Each point in the cycle provides a different piece of information that, together, helps us understand the quality and impact of Powerhouse® implementation and delivery.
