5.8: Operational Readiness Check

You’ve made the key decisions needed to prepare your organization for Powerhouse® delivery. Before welcoming young caregivers to your first session, use this final check to make sure the essential pieces are in place.

Before Your First Session, Confirm Your Organization Has:

❏ Delivery format and age group selected and matched to your organization’s capacity and community needs.
❏ Program cycle dates confirmed, with enough lead time for outreach, registration, intake, and preparation.
❏ Facilitators identified, screened, and trained.
❏ Program responsibilities assigned, including coordination, supervision, and evaluation.
❏ Program space or virtual platform confirmed and ready for participants.
❏ Any required permits, insurance documentation, or venue requirements confirmed, where applicable.
❏ Referral, registration and intake processes ready including a clear way to receive and respond to referrals or inquiries.
❏ Materials and supplies prepared and appropriately stored.
❏ Participant and family communication planned, including what they need to know before the first session.
❏ Support and escalation contacts confirmed so facilitators know who to contact if a concern arises during programming.

★ Powerhouse® Tip: You don’t need every part of your Powerhouse® program to be perfect before you begin. You do need the essential systems, people, and safeguards in place to deliver your first cycle safely and consistently.
