For more than 20 years, YCA’s work has been shaped by the experiences of young caregivers and their families.

The following video shares Dylan’s experience as a young caregiver supporting his mom with diabetes and shows how young caregiver programs can provide connection and support.

Powerhouse® is YCA’s model for supporting young caregivers and their families. Through Powerhouse®, young caregivers have opportunities to connect with others who understand their experiences, build skills and feel supported in their caregiving role and everyday lives. Later in this lesson, we’ll look more closely at how the Powerhouse® model responds to the experiences, challenges and needs of young caregivers.
